Good News

The doctor says Shealin's kidneys look good. She will continue on her antibiotics for a couple of months, and she will hopefully outgrow the reflux within a year. Shealin celebrated by eating her new favorite treat, Mini Nilla Wafers. She can't seem to get enough of them. If she sees the box she starts saying, "Yummmmm, Yummmm". Maybe they will add a few pounds to her teeny tiny frame. I snapped a few pictures of her tonight while she was sleeping. You just have to love that hair!

A Quick Recovery!

As you can see by the pictures, Shealin bounced right back from her bad day. She ran Mommy ragged today! She really is everywhere all at once. I still have trouble getting good pictures of her when I am by myself, because she wants the camera. I did capture two though. I love the one of her peeking at me through the bed rail.

Tough Day

We had a tough day yesterday. Shealin had to have a renal scan done. It was an hour long torture session. There is nothing worse than having to hold your child down so they can insert an iv. We will find out the results on Monday. Hopefully, she will not have to endure any more tests for a long time. She fell asleep on the way home and slept for 3 hours, so you know she was exhausted from all the crying. I wanted to cry too.

Six Month Anniversary

Six months ago today, Shealin was placed in my arms. I still cannot believe she is here. The wait seemed never ending and now time has flown by. She has changed so much in such a short time. Today she met our cousin Jeff for the first time. She loves to meet new people and charm them into playing with her. Thanks for the new book and gift certificate Jeff and Casey.

First Snow!

We finally had some snow here. After weeks of unseasonably warm weather it has gotten cold. This morning we had a small amount of snow. Shealin was amazed at this. I know I should have had the camera, but I needed to get to work. Sorry, Lea! It would have been a great picture her face full of wonder as the beautiful snow drifted down around her. I scooped up a small amount for her to touch and she smiled that great grin of hers. When I dropped her off at daycare, she did not even want to say goodbye, she just wanted to look out at the snow falling. She is such a cutie!

Reflections

I can not believe that our six month anniversary is on Saturday. Where did the time go? Looking back at the pictures of our trip, brings it all back to me. Shealin is such a joy! I am so happy to have her in my life, she truly brightens each day.

Simple Things

Forget about expensive toys, Shealin's new favorite plaything is the dustbroom. She was playing with Zio and having a great time. The video is a little dark, but the laughter is loud and clear!

Our First Six Months Together!

A Love, Hate Relationship

Shealin, has always hated the vacuum. Anytime it is on she is screaming and I have to hold her. That makes it a little hard to vacuum my house! So imagine my surprise when I see Shealin pull out the vacuum and hug it and sit on it with a great big smile on her face! Enjoy the pictures.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! A little bit late, but we have been very busy. Shealin went to the doctor and has gained another 6 ounces. She is finally on the right track. She seems to be eating more and more each day. We spent New Years Eve, with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. Shealin got some more toys, we all know she really does not have enough! Her favorite of the night was a great cardboard box, it made her very happy. She did not stay awake to watch the ball drop, but I did. She was happy to get back to daycare today and I am happy to get her back on schedule.
