The Patch

Well, I spoke to the eye doctor today about the patch. He told me to tape mittens on her hands and buy this stuff called Tegaderm, as it will be hard for her to grab that. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh wait, he said tape mittens to her hands! OMG! So of course I was panicking, tape what kind of tape. I am so totally freaked by this. Thank God, Abbie suggested using Velcro. Have, I mentioned my little active spicy girl hates mittens. She would not wear them all winter. So, tonight I took a pair of her socks and doctored them up with the Velcro, after much SCREAMING, and a HUGE THANK YOU to Alyssa and Charlotte for coming up to help, we wore our patch for a half an hour tonight. I so wanted to cry, I know its for the best, but it really feels horrible to do this to you child. We are going to try for an hour tomorrow. I will need a huge hot fudge sundae after that.

1 Year Referral Anniversary

One year ago yesterday, I received the phone call that would forever change my life. The details were few, and I had to wait over the long holiday weekend to see her face. I can remember the feelings that washed over me like it was yesterday. I can't believe it has been a year. Where does the time go.

Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhh!

I need help! Shealin was diagnosed with a lazy eye. She now needs to wear an eye patch over her right eye for about 3 hours a day. Anyone who has ever met my feisty, spicy girl is laughing their butt off while reading this. I have only been able to keep it on for 3 seconds(if that). She is not having it. She won't even let me try a reward system, which has worked great for putting her shoes on. I hope someone out there in blogland has a suggestion please!

To all my blog buddies, I am sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been busy planning Shealin's birthday party, and been working on her movie. I would like to have the movie finished to play at her party. I am almost done. It's so awesome to watch it from start to finish and see just how much my little baby has grown. I hope to take some new pictures of her this week. She has been busy teething, teething and more teething. So many teeth coming in (I counted 6). The poor baby has been so cranky. I have included one picture from the movie. Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day!

First I would like to thank all of the ladies at Shealin's daycare for helping her make the most beautiful gift, for my first mother's day. Second, I thank Lea for helping Shealin shop for another beautiful gift. I love it!. My third and I have to say my best gift came from Shealin all by herself. After, being buckled into her car seat she always gives me a kiss and today she said " I love you". I am not making this up, I have a witness as she told gram ma on the phone today the same thing. You know I started crying, after I told her, I love you too. She is just the greatest!

Mashed Potatoes Anyone?

Shealin has discovered the joy of playing with her food, while eating it. She usually just touches it and then wants her hands cleaned. Tonight I told her to stick her fingers in her mouth and she loved it, and boy did things in my kitchen get messy! She is so much fun. For all the waiting mommas your time is coming and it is so worth the long wait. I am thinking of all of you, hang in there I know it is tough.

Home Sweet Home

We are home and getting back into the swing of things. Shealin is so happy to be back with her toys. She went from toy to toy and made sure they all still worked. She was happy to get back to daycare, which gave mommy a chance to food shop, get the laundry done and get some much needed sleep. Now on to planning her great big birthday bash. I am soooooo not a party person, this should be one interesting party! Anything for my little angel. Any party advice will be greatly appreciated. Wish I could sleep like this!
